Got the right PC ?

You'll need a PC with hardware that meets the requirements of your chosen software (although no EPOS package is particularly demanding). In addition remember that you'll need enough spare ports on the PC for your EPOS equipment to plug into :

You'll need a spare Parallel (Printer) port or COM (RS232) port for your receipt printer and another spare COM (RS232) port if you intend to use a customer dislay pole (these are only available with COM (RS232) interfaces). Don't worry about the cash drawer - these come with a 'kick' cable that hooks up to the receipt printer. Likewise, don't worry about the barcode scanner - these ('keyboard wedge' versions) share the PS/2 port on the back of the computer with the keyboard (scanned barcodes are sent to the computer as simulated keypresses on the keyboard).

Always check that your chosen hardware is compatible with your EPOS software although most software will support Epson compatible equipment.
