remoteServer is a module for our SimplEPOS software which provides a suite of simple-to-use and effective utilities accessible through a Windows CE based data terminal or PDA such as the Datalogic Memor or Metrologic Optimus. (remoteServer also provides access to the store system from a remote PC or laptop).

Using real-time access to the SimplEPOS database it provides stock checking, queue busting, order creation, clearance label printing and data collection facilities through the handheld device.

Due to the way remoteServer works there's no software to pre-install on the terminal/PDA - all you need is wireless access to the PC running remoteServer (through a wireless access point or router).

The suite of utilities provided by remoteServer are comprehensive but require very limited training.

Stock Checker provides the ability to check and adjust stock levels. Simply scan an item to see the system's realtime stock level and enter the correct stock level if different. Adjustments are recorded in the same way as a traditional stock take (and so are fully reportable/auditable). Through the Stock Checker you can perform live stock takes while the store is open (unlike with a traditional stock take).

Order Creator allows you to create purchase orders for stock by simply scanning the items or their shelf edge labels.

Data Collector is ideal for collecting barcodes for adhoc purposes such as loading into a stock form for booking-in stock, creating a supplier return or even loading into the POS screen.

remoteServer, coupled with a PDT such as the Datalogic Memor provides an "out of the box" solution that's easy to setup and use - once installed, it automatically hooks into your local SimplEPOS database.

remoteServer supports the simultaneous use of an unlimited number of wireless PDTs/PDAs without any additional licensing and with neglible extra load on the host PC. remoteServer is therefore fully scalable and suitable for both small and large retail setups alike.

remoteServer is licensed on a site basis at £100 per site, regardless of the number of PDTs/PDAs used. A "ready-to-run" bundle comprising of remoteServer and Datalogic Memor (with battery/charger, etc) is available for £620.
