  • Automatically updates stock figures in real-time.
  • End of day balance sheet to assist takings reconciliation.

Stock Control

  • Support for product "derivatives" making it easy to setup variations of products (eg. different sizes/colours - ideal for fashion).
  • Multiple barcodes/PLU codes permitted for any product.
  • Facility for product images (used for website integration).
  • Direct printing of stock barcodes/price labels via dedicated label printers (printing on label rolls) or any A4 Windows inkjet/laser printer (printing on label sheets). Even supports the Dymo range of budget label printers, as advertised on TV.
  • "Receiving on" stock process for receiving on deliveries.
  • "Transfer off" stock process for handling stock returns/loss.
  • "Stock take" process with loss reporting.

Purchase Ordering

  • Supplier database holding minimum order requirements for each supplier.
  • Create and print manual Purchase Orders put together yourself.
  • Create automatic Purchase Orders where the system replenishes your stock to its "ideal" level. (Fully editable by the user).
  • Generate Purchase Orders from a handheld scanner (walk around your store or stock room and scan items you would like the system to order).
  • Receive on stock quickly and painlessly just from the PO number (supports part shipments).

Finance (requires financialAccounts module)

  • Input purchase invoices to track your accounts payable.
  • View invoice/delivery mismatches to spot supplier errors, missing invoices and missing shipments/returns.
  • Generate your VAT return (the system tells you what amounts to put in which boxes). Simplifies an otherwise lengthy quarterly task.
  • Generate Profit/Loss accounts for any period of time (day, week, month, financial year, etc).
  • Generate reports on your purchase invoices - invoices due for payment, overdue invoices, supplier summary, etc.

Reports

  • Reports can be run for any range of days.
  • Reports can be printed on an attached receipt printer or exported to Windows for viewing/printing.
  • Sales Journal Report; lists products sold, quantity sold and current stock.
  • Sales Summary Report; revenue generated by each product type, along with tax collected.
  • Sales Margin Report; margin (profit on sales) by product category.
  • Transaction Detail; lists all transactions processed.
  • Credit Detail; lists all VOID and OVERRING transactions.
  • Discount Detail; lists all DISCOUNT transactions.
  • Low Stock; assists stock ordering and replenishment.
  • Stock List; lists quantity of products in specified category(ies).
  • Stock Value; lists the value of your stock by product type.

Data import/export

  • Import stock/customer database from a spreadsheet or existing EPOS package.
  • Export stock/customer database to spreadsheet (in CSV format).
  • Update product database with amendments made in a spreadsheet (ideal for bulk alterations).
  • Export sales logs filtered by supplier as a spreadsheet (ideal for auto stock replenishment or supplier invoicing of sold stock).
  • Export detailed transaction data; provides for data import into spreadsheets, databases, etc. for third party processing (eg. custom reports in Excel).

Multi-site support / remote access (requires remoteServer module).

  • Allows access to the store system from a web browser anywhere on the Internet (or on your business VPN).
  • Provides remote web-based access to main back office functionality (reports, product database maintenance, stock processing, etc).
  • Allows multiple sites to be linked (for shared, centrally maintained database).
  • Real-time access to stock data, etc across your estate from each site.
  • Simple multi-site setup/configuration which you can do yourself (debunks the mystery and complications surrounding multi-site support).
  • All done over a broadband Internet connection (static/fixed IP address for each site recommended), no leased line/dedicated phone line required.

Local access through wireless, handheld PDTs (requires remoteServer module).

  • Allows access to the store system from one or more wireless PDTs such as the Datalogic Memor.
  • Real-time stock checking/taking.
  • Reduced price/clearance label printing.
  • Queue busting.
  • Purchase Ordering.
  • Stock receiving/transferring.
  • All done over a "normal" wireless network (wireless capable access point or router required).

Pricing and options

The SimplEPOS package is priced at £250 for the first terminal and then £100 per terminal thereafter - this includes the software and a printed manual. Complete hardware kits to turn a standard PC running SimplEPOS into an EPOS terminal are available from only £279 (based on a CCD barcode scanner, impact receipt printer and standard size cash drawer).
