Stock control (receives and transfers)
Processing stock in and out of the business (except from customer sales and returns) is done through the stock receive and transfer facilities. These ensure that the processing of stock is done in an accountable, auditable way. This is essential for both large businesses that process and need to track huge amounts of stock and small businesses that want to get into scaleable, good habits with a proper stock control process.
The receiving of stock from suppliers (or other stores in a multi-site organisation) is done through the stock receive facility :
This allows the user to enter details of the delivery (such as supplier name, purchase order number and shipping reference number) and the quantity of each product received. The system's stock levels are automatically updated when the receive is 'posted' and a 'receive receipt' is printed for later reconciliation.
For stores within a multi-site organisation, a central PC can poll data on stock received at each store for invoice reconciliation (eg. to spot missing deliveries, short shipments, etc). As with other polled data, this is exported in CSV format for import into a wide range of applications such as spreadsheets and databases for external processing.
